The Club at Natirar Launches Cultural Event Series
May 11, 2011

On Tuesday, May 10, in collaboration with esteemed NYC public relations firm Alan Pepe Communications, Natirar launched a series of cultural events open only to Club Members and a carefully vetted list of VIPs.  This exclusive franchise will provide cutting-edge evenings of art, entertainment, media, style, and celebrity on a quarterly basis.  The series will include a nonlinear film retrospective, ranging from the Studio Era to the modern-day arthouse, all followed by live commentary and discussion; unique exhibitions of painting, sculpture, photography, and experimental installations by leading NYC institutions; designer fashion shows and pop-up presentations; music performances by popular entertainers; and other exciting, visionary forms.

The series will opened yesterday with a screening of venerated director Paul Schrader's The Comfort of Strangers, a controversial, psychosexual thriller/film noir, starring Christopher Walken, Rupert Everett, Natasha Richardson, and Helen Mirren.  The evening was hosted by Prince Lorenzo Borghese--TV star, Italian royalty, and heir to the Borghese cosmetics empire.

Before the screening, guests were invited to a luxurious, candlelit dinner in the cognac room of Ninety Acres, serving both traditional and nouvelle cuisine inspired by the film's setting in Venice .  A bespoke tasting menu and wine degustation will be curated by our award-winning chef, David Felton, and sommelier, Brooke Sabel.
